As a pet first aid instructor and the author of a book about dog safety, I was very happy to stumble upon this website! Many dog parents have questions about what “people foods” their dog can safely eat, and your site gives great info to guide them. I have just posted a video on my YouTube channel all about food hazards for dogs http://tiny.cc/41iJR

okay: broccoli, small amount of garlic, carrots, beans, peas, spinach
not ok: corn, anything grain based since dogs should not have anything grain.

Eggplant is safe and good, and my dog loves it!
I’ve often wondered about lettuce, though… my dog loves it, but other dogs I’ve had didn’t seem to even recognize it as food. My dog hasn’t shown any ill effects from eating lettuce, but she never really gets more than half a leaf.
